There's a particular kind of nostalgia tied to wafer bars - the crisp layers, the sweet cream filling, the satisfying snap when you break one in half. It's a snack that has quietly lived in Indian lunchboxes and tea-time trays for decades. SuperYou set out to bring that nostalgia into a better-for-you format from day one - and now, that promise has gotten even stronger.
SuperYou's protein wafers are officially New & Improved: made with Atta and Jowar, with no maida, no added sugar, no trans fat, and no palm oil. Same crunch you love, same maaad taste - just an even cleaner bar behind it.
A Note From SuperYou
Thank you for loving SuperYou.
We take your feedback very seriously. That's why, when you told us our 10g Protein Wafers could be better, we listened.
Hello Atta and Jowar!
Our wafers now have No Maida, No Palm Oil, No Trans Fat. Don't worry, it's still as crunchy and maaad tasty.
Keep loving us. Keep making us better. And as always, Stay Super!
Why This Upgrade Happened
SuperYou wafers have always kept their footprint light - maida was never the star of the show, just a small supporting ingredient at 2 grams per wafer, about the equivalent of a single bite of biscuit. It did an important structural job: giving the wafer its light, crisp, snap-in-your-hand texture, something whole grains have historically struggled to replicate.
But "small" was never the finish line for SuperYou. Listening closely to what the community was asking for, the team went back to the drawing board with one clear brief: keep everything people love about the wafer, and find a way to get to zero maida without losing an ounce of the crunch.
Getting to Atta and Jowar
Replacing maida with whole grains is one of the trickier problems in snack formulation -whole grains carry more fiber and bran, which can easily turn a light, crisp wafer into something dense or chewy if the recipe isn't right. SuperYou's product development team spent considerable time testing grain blends before landing on the winning combination: atta and jowar, layered and baked to hold the same structure and snap as before.
Getting there took real iteration - dialing in moisture levels, baking temperatures, and grain ratios - because whole grains behave differently from refined flour at every stage of the process. The team's north star throughout was simple: never let "cleaner" mean "less delicious."
What Else Got Better
The upgrade didn't stop at the base layer. Alongside removing maida, SuperYou also eliminated trans fat and continued its long-standing no-palm-oil approach, all while holding the line on no added sugar. It's a full-circle upgrade - every layer and every fat source now aligned with the same clean standard.
And in true "we listened" fashion, even the packaging got an upgrade -now easier to open, because good snacking shouldn't start with a fight against the wrapper.
The Bar Itself Hasn't Changed - What's Inside It Has
The wafer you're picking up is still exactly the crunchy, protein-packed treat people reach for at 4pm or after a workout. What's changed is what it's built on: no maida, no trans fat, no palm oil - just atta, jowar, and the same fermented yeast protein SuperYou has always used, wrapped in a formula that keeps getting better with every round of feedback.
The crunch is still there. The taste is still there. It's just built even more cleaner now -because at SuperYou, ‘good’ is never quite the finish line.
Stay Super!
